Last week when I got in from LA, it was close to midnight. It was damp and foggy out with a drizzle that turned into a light rain as I walked to my car. The weather hit my bones immediately, a total departure from the warm sun and cool breeze in LA. As I made my way out of the maze of cars and headed to I-294, I plugged in my phone to listen to some tunes for the hour plus ride. Barely anyone was out on the road, the dense fog created a spooky path punctured by the tall streetlamps. Then the sinister yet sexy Night Crawler came on. What a song. Beautifully creepy, it's a track on Thee Oh Sees album Floating Coffin. Released in 2013, it's one of my favorites of theirs but, to be completely honest, John Dwyer and the band are so prolific that I have not kept up with the latest releases. Someone turned me on to their music a while back and I was instantly hooked. IT'S SO GOOD. The perfect accompaniment to a very cold, foggy ride home.
